2. Clinical Manifestations

- Disproportionate Pain: The patient experiences excruciating, throbbing pain. This intensity occurs because the skin of the nasal vestibule is intimately bound down to the underlying alar cartilage with minimal intervening subcutaneous tissue. Any inflammatory edema causes rapid tissue tension.
- Physical Signs: Marked swelling, localized erythema, and intense tenderness of the nasal tip and alae. Examination reveals a small, red, indurated nodule inside the vestibule that later points as a yellow pustule.
3. The Lethal Pathway: Cavernous Sinus Thrombosis
