The Homeopathic College of Pennsylvania was established in 1848, was later renamed Hahnemann Medical College, and then became Hahnemann University School of Medicine. The Female Medical College of Pennsylvania, established in 1850, later became Woman’s Medical College of Pennsylvania, then the Medical College of Pennsylvania. The two schools merged in 1996 to form Allegheny University of Health Sciences, later renamed MCP Hahnemann University. In 2002, MCP Hahnemann University was merged into Drexel University and renamed the Drexel University College of Medicine.
